Issue Position: Election and Lobbying Reform

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014
Issues: Elections

Introduce legislation that would institute a TV and radio broadcast license requirement for reasonable allotments of free airtime for candidates for public office. This would eliminate the need for most campaign funding and therefore greatly reduce the influence of money in the political process. Public airwaves should serve the public interest.

Introduce legislation to stop the revolving doors where regulators and legislators go to work as lobbyists or executives of related firms after leaving government office.
